Cullora

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Cullora (the "App") handles information when you use the Cullora iOS application.

Summary

Information We Access and Why

Photos and Videos

If you grant photo library access, Cullora reads your photos and videos to help you find duplicates, organize media, compress videos, and clean up storage. This processing is performed on-device. Cullora does not upload your photos or videos to its own servers.

Cullora may also write to your photo library when you choose to save compressed videos, restored media, or other results.

If an original is stored in iCloud Photos rather than locally, Apple's Photos framework may download it from iCloud so Cullora can perform the operation you requested. That transfer is handled by Apple; it is not an upload to Cullora or to a Cullora server.

Contacts

If you use the contact cleaning feature and grant permission, Cullora reads your contacts to identify incomplete entries and potential duplicates. Contact analysis is performed on-device.

Selected Files Folders and iCloud Drive

If you choose a folder through Apple's Files picker, iOS gives Cullora a security-scoped permission for that folder. Cullora cannot use that choice to browse unrelated Files locations. Within an approved folder, the App may read file names, types, sizes, modification dates, allocation information, and iCloud provider state so it can calculate storage and decide whether it must abstain. This scan is performed on-device; file content is not uploaded to Cullora or a Cullora server.

“Free iPhone Space” is limited to asking iOS to remove a verified downloaded iCloud copy while the original remains in iCloud. Unknown, uploading, conflicting, changed, non-iCloud, or out-of-scope items are left unchanged. Cullora stores selected-folder bookmarks and verification receipts locally so it can retain the permission and avoid counting or repeating an unverified operation.

“Clean iCloud” is different: if you explicitly select and confirm an original, the App may delete that original from iCloud Drive and synced devices. Original deletion is never performed by Space Guard and is never inferred merely from age, name, type, or size. Provider recovery availability is controlled by Apple or the applicable Files provider.

If Space Guard is available, you subscribe to Plus, and you enable it, iOS may give Cullora background processing time to perform the same narrow local-copy checks inside folders you approved. Background timing is controlled by iOS.

Face Analysis (On-Device)

Cullora can analyze photos for faces using Apple's Vision framework to group similar photos and recommend the best shots. Face feature data may be cached locally on your device (for example, in the app's cache) to improve performance. This data is not intended to identify you across apps.

Vault Protection (PIN and Biometrics)

Cullora includes an optional encrypted vault. New vault PINs contain six digits; vaults created by an older version may continue to accept their existing 4-digit PIN until you explicitly upgrade it. If you enable it, Face ID or Touch ID can also unlock the vault. PIN hashes, encryption keys, and related security material are stored in the iOS Keychain. Encrypted vault media, state, and settings are stored locally on your device.

Notifications

Cullora may request permission to send local notifications (for example, reminders about storage, streaks, or cleanup opportunities). Notifications can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Cullora offers optional paid subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple. The App uses RevenueCat, a subscription management provider, to help validate purchases and manage entitlements across devices.

How Data Is Shared

Cullora does not sell your personal information.

The App relies on:

Cullora does not send photo, video, contact, or face-analysis content to RevenueCat.

Data Retention

Cullora data, including selected-folder bookmarks and rescue receipts, is stored locally on your device and remains there until you disconnect a folder, delete it through an available in-app control, clear the App's data, or remove the App. Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records according to their respective policies and legal obligations.

Your Choices and Controls

Data Deletion

For most users, deleting the app removes local Cullora data from the device. For more detail, see the Data Deletion page.

Security

Cullora uses platform security features provided by iOS, such as the Keychain for sensitive tokens and credentials. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we aim to follow reasonable safeguards.

Children's Privacy

Cullora is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International Use

Cullora may be used in multiple regions. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase information according to their policies and operating locations.
